CMTV airs on Comcast channel 14. Our programming reaches over 100,000 households in the City of Spokane, Spokane Valley, Spokane County and Liberty Lake. Click to view a map of our broadcast range.
How can I get involved with CMTV?
If you are new to CMTV the best place to start is with a free orientation class. Orientation is held the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30pm. If you have video skills or just want to learn how it’s done consider taking a class. We offer classes in video production and non-linear editing on Final Cut Pro. We also provide training in Photoshop and Illustrator. Advanced classes in lighting, editing and sound are available upon request. If you would like to volunteer there are many ways you can help out at CMTV. Simply contact us to meet with a member of our staff as we work to try and match you to a job or project. We also accept Work Study’s, Americorp Volunteers and Interns.
How do I put a show on the air
Anyone within a 100 mile radius of Spokane County can submit a local program for air on CMTV. Programs must comply with CMTV broadcast standards and cannot contain a call to action. Programs can be submitted on DVD, mini-DV or a quick time movie file. We cannot accept programs on VHS as we only broadcast in a digital format. The person submitting the program is solely responsible for its content and can be held liable for any content that does not have permissions. You must fill out a

Who can use the equipment?
We are a community access station so anyone can use our equipment after they have been certified on it. Here’s how it works. You must be working on a project to air on CMTV. You must be trained or certified on the equipment you’re interested in using. For example, once you complete the Intro. to Video Production class you may check out a camera. Once you take the Final Cut Pro class you may use our editing stations for your projects. If you already have shooting and editing experience you may waive the class and simply take a certification test. This way the CMTV staff knows that you know how to handle the equipment properly. We are not a rental house so we do not rent out equipment for commercial shoots. Any CMTV equipment used, it is expected that there will be a program to air for channel 14. Some small charges do apply for the equipment, but these charges can be reduced or eliminated by volunteer time.
How can I get involved with the Artist's Showcase?
We continue accept original artwork and music as part of CMTV’s Artist Showcase. Art and music submissions should be mailed or delivered to the station on CD or DVD. Art should be in JPEG or TIFF file formats and MPEG3 for music files. No emailed materials will be accepted.
Signed releases are required for all materials aired on CMTV.
