CURRENT CLASS SCHEDULE


CMTV is committed to providing video training that is accessible, affordable and of great quality instruction. We offer monthly intro level classes as well as advanced training in video production, editing and graphic design. Classes run between $75 and $100. All classes are limited between 4 to 8 students per class, depending on type of instruction. If there is demand we will add classes or create new classes that fill that demand. All classes are taught at CMTV, and payment is required in advance to attend. You cannot reserve a spot in a class unless payment is received in full. We use Sony HD cameras, Arri and Photoflex lighting kits and many variations of audio gear as well as the FCP Suite and the Adobe Creative Suite for software to teach our classes. Below is a brief description of the classes we offer.


Shooting Home Movies like a Pro

This class is a great first step into digital story telling. You will learn digital video cameras, nonlinear editing (iMovie), scripting, storyboarding and how to put your first project together. This project based class is one and a half days of video production fun! Class Dates are currently being assessed for the Spring and Summer quarters. Check back soon for dates!


Final Cut Pro I

This class will provide an introductory step into the professional software application Final Cut Pro, the industry leader in nonlinear editing. Students will become familiarized with workflows, tools, organization techniques, audio and video editing. Get prepared for information overload because we throw a lot at you, but always make sure that you can keep up. Next class dates are being scheduled for Spring and Summer so check back soon, or give us a call to inquire.

 

Final Cut Pro II

This class will cover some of the more advanced features and puzzling aspects of Final Cut Pro. This two-part class will cover multi-cam editing, color correction and waveform tools as well as the ever intimidating CODEC’s. We will cover audio issues utilizing Soundtrack Pro, using audio filters and finish off with some advanced motion keyframing.Classes are conducted when enrollment reaches 4 students.


Photoshop

This class introduces students to the world’s most powerful photo manipulation program. You will learn the basics of projects, layers, masks, color, and image manipulation. This is a great tool for enhancing or creating stunning new images from your photographs for many venues, such as brochures or posters.Next class: Classes are held based on full enrollment.


Illustrator

This class teaches students Adobe Illustrator and how to create original graphics for print, web and video. Students will learn how to utilize the power and flexibility of vector based drawing. Topics covered will include: creating shapes, drawing with brushes, blending images, exploring type, graphic styles, and project output.Next class: Classes are held based on full enrollment.


Lighting Basics

Learn how to light up your projects for indoor and outdoor shoots using Arri lighting kits, flags, bounce boards and more. This lighting class will make you confident in different lighting scenarios so your next project turns out beautiful and well lit.


Production Audio

Are you shooting videos but your audio is always too low, distorted or just all over the place? This class will train you in audio setups for any situation, interviews, on the street, discussion panels and more. You’ll learn multiple microphones and setups so your program will sound like the professionals.
